Taking advantage of a rare day of glorious weather, we spent a morning at Richmond Park in Surrey on Sunday. The idea was to photograph the tail end of Red Deer rut in what promised to be one of those lovely still, crisp and cold November mornings.
It quickly became evident that most of the action was over for another year so we had to settle for a couple of nice portraits of the males instead.
Being such a lovely morning, it seemed a shame to waste an opportunity to photograph some of the resident birds on Pen Ponds including Mute Swans, Egyptian Geese, Tufted Ducks and Moorhens.
